Mega Man 11 didn’t reinvent the wheel, but it didn’t need to. After so many years with the Blue Bomber on hiatus, it did exactly what it needed to, which was deliver a brand new, solid adventure along the lines of the classic games to fans old and new. However, Capcom may not yet be done with giving us more of their former mascot.
Rockman Corner notes that the Steam database page for Mega Man 11 has mysteriously been updated to include a new developer—8ing. 8ing is a Japanese developer who have a history of collaborating with Capcom (previously, they have worked with Capcom on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate), but so far, they are yet to have worked on a Mega Man game. Their showing up on the store page listing for Mega Man 11 is leading to speculation that they might be working on new DLC for the game, which, of course, is unannounced right now.
This is purely speculation for now, so it shouldn’t be taken as concrete confirmation in either case (which is the reason it has been marked as a rumor). For all we know, 8ing is the company that was behind the PC port of the game, or something. But for now, there is some evidence to suggest that there may be something more incoming.
