Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Will Feature VR Missions, Side Stories as DLC

A clever nod to the Metal Gear Solid Integral's VR content.

Given the amount of time and effort that’s gone into Platinum Games’ Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance from its subsequent development at Kojima Productions to its quiet cancellation and subsequent rebirth into the hyper-action fest we see today, it only makes sense that they’d want to expand on the universe beyond protagonist Raiden.

Not only that, but with the Cyborg Ninja skin available as DLC, why not make another nod to the classic Metal Gear Solid games? According to Dengeki Playstation, Revengeance will feature VR missions in future downloadable content to expand on the replayability.

We’ll also be seeing various side stories with other characters, which means additional playable characters in the future. As of now, no other details or when we can expect the DLC but its certainly a great addition.

After all, Metal Gear Solid: Integral released in 1999 for Japan (which later arrived on Playstation and PC in the West) featured a ton of VR missions ranging from boss fights, time trials, mysteries and even three levels featuring the Cyborg Ninja to expand on the gameplay.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is currently slated for release in North America on February 19th for PS3 and Xbox 360.
