Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Announced for Xbox One

Yes. For real this time.

Kojima Productions took the stage at Microsoft’s E3 press conference to finally showcase Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain. Yes, for real this time. And they hit us with a dynamite announcement by saying that it will come to the Xbox One, with Hideo Kojima dropping hints about some kind of exclusivity (or so it seems. Man likes to be mysterious).

The real time demo featured Snake and a mysterious man traversing the deserts of Afghanistan to locate a man named Milelr (which should be known to fans of the MGS series). The trailer showcases various modes of transport as Snake traverses the desert on horseback, in a hummer, etc. The game also promises “deeper stealth action” and showcases some incredibly desert vistas with great draw distance.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will apparently focus on “those who ‘don’t exist'” or something to that effect. Did we mention Revolver Ocelot returns? There will be a real-time weather system of course, along with new characters, and of course, Kiefer Sutherland as the gritty “I’m already a demon” Snake.

Stay with us as we update you on the conference.
