Microsoft Announces The Return of X0, Will Be Held In Mexico City This November

Microsoft has announced that it is bringing its annual expo back this year.

While it is unclear whether or not Sony will actually do a PlayStation Experience this year, Microsoft has gone ahead and announced the return of its annual game show, X0, during the Inside Xbox stream today. The X0 expo was held annually in the 2000s, before Microsoft finally stopped, and was known for some big announcements. Microsoft’s acquisition of Rare, the original Fable, Halo 2, and the launch lineup of the Xbox 360, among other things, were all announced at X0. So this is a big deal.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer himself announced X0, and promised that this isn’t just a glorified Inside Xbox episode, but a physical event that will be held at Mexico City. Streams will be broadcast on Mixer, and there will be announcements from first party and third party developers alike. It will be held on November 10

I don’t know what we can expect from X0– maybe we can expect an update on the new Gears and Halo games Microsoft announced at E3, or maybe brand new announcements from the studios they acquired and set up recently. Whatever it is, it is exciting— for the first time in a while, I feel like Microsoft is being unpredictable, and that to me is a good thing.
