Microsoft Confirms That It Shall Not Announce Any New Xbox One Games At The Game Awards

'We are looking forward to a great show, however.'

The Game Awards are almost here, and we have been promised over a dozen ‘world premiers’ at the event. With all the major players in the industry, including key third party publishers, as well as Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft, heavily backing the event, you would expect there to be something for everyone at the event. Sony, especially, seems to be well represented there, with multiple PlayStation 4 exclusives confirmed to be showcased at the event. However, Microsoft, at least, has confirmed that it will be debuting no new games at the event.

“Since many have asked we are not planning any new game announcements @thegameawards. Looking forward to watching a great show however,” Aaron Greenberg said on his Twitter account.

Of note, however, is the fact that the definition of ‘world premier’ is very loose at The Game Awards, and that it is entirely possible that Microsoft showcase one of their previously announced games, such as Crackdown or Scalebound, while technically not debuting any new games.

Will that happen? Who knows. We’ll keep you posted regardless.
