Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s release is definitely an industry event- here we have brand new game that is so well received, and so successful all around, that just about everyone has to acknowledge its brilliance, and join in on celebrating it, regardless of their personal preferences and allegiances to their favorite platforms.
Even Microsoft’s executives have sportingly conceded to Uncharted 4′s brilliance. In a tweet, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg posted an image of Uncharted 4, stating that he couldn’t wait to play through the game (he also thanked Sony for sending him a free copy to begin with). You can check out the tweet below. Meanwhile, on Major Nelson’s podcast, Microsoft’s Jeff Rubenstein, who is the head of digital storytelling at Xbox, congratulated Naughty Dog on the launch of Uncharted 4, and for delivering on quality again, calling it a ‘great game.’
‘I did start playing Uncharted 4,’ he said, before stopping so that him and Major Nelson both, could congratulate Naughty Dog on the successful launch of the new game. ‘This is actually the first Uncharted game that I wasn’t on the team for,’ he went on, noting his work with Sony and Naughty Dog in the past. ‘It’s a great game, and it’s a great team. You know, Naughty Dog always deliver high quality, so congratulations to them.’ he said.
It has to be said, Microsoft are definitely good sports for acknowledging Sony’s very successful release. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is available now exclusively on PS4. And Sony themselves have been good sports with acknowledging Microsoft for their game launches in the past- because you see, even as fanboys of both sides (and Nintendo and PC too) fight among themselves, these things don’t matter in the end- certainly Sony and Microsoft themselves are pretty pally among themselves, and they seem to care more about games than they do about brands. This is what we should all be doing, as gamers.
