Microsoft Might Reveal New Xbox-Related Hardware This Year – Rumour

Insider claims this new Xbox hardware "falls into a different bucket than people are probably expecting."

Hardware sales have been extremely constrained over the last couple of years with the global semiconductor shortage, even beyond the gaming market, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change in the near future. But even though hardware that’s already released is difficult enough to get hands on for most, it seems Microsoft might have even more stuff in the works.

Recently on the XboxEra podcast, XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker said that Microsoft currently has “some” new Xbox-related hardware to show that, interestingly enough, “falls into a different bucket than people are probably expecting.” What exactly that might mean though, Baker hasn’t specified.

He does say though, that while it’s likely that this new Xbox hardware, whatever it is, could be revealed sometime this year, with factors like COVID, Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, and the aforementioned chip shortage, there’s every chance that plans end up getting changed.

Whether that’s a new variant of the Xbox Series consoles, something more focused on cloud or Game Pass, a new accessory or peripheral, or something else entirely- that remains to be seen. Assuming, of course, that this is accurate, though Baker does have a good track record with leaks, so there’s that.

A digital E3 2022 event is apparently still in the works, and rumours claim Xbox is going to be there, so maybe this is something we’ll hear about then.
