Microsoft’s E3 2018 Conference Will See “Positive Changes” – Spencer

Xbox boss notes that these changes "could be fun for us".

It’s never too early to prepare for one’s E3 press conference. In his recent appearance on Major Nelson’s podcast, Xbox head Phil Spencer said that Microsoft will have some changes to its Xbox presser at E3 2018.

Spencer said that, “I don’t think we’ve talked about yet, but I think will be some positive changes at E3. Could be fun for us; it’ll be a nice change.”

Of course, that could mean any number of things. It’s doubtful that Microsoft will go the way of EA with its EA Play event that tries to be more inclusive of fans or Nintendo’s E3-focused Direct presentation and Treehouse streams. If this means trimming the fat slightly and only focusing on the most important releases coming in the future, then it wouldn’t be all that bad.

E3 2018 will take place in Los Angeles on June 12th to 14th. We don’t know what to expect from Microsoft this year but it’s more or less likely that Halo’s next big development is revealed, a new Forza title is announced and more Xbox One X-supported games are showcased.
