MoH: Warfighter has a short window to capture sales due to other AAA releases – Analyst

Short window to capture sales according to the Cowen and Company analyst.

In a shocking prediction by that no one saw coming, some analysts think that Medal of Honor: Warfighter could suffer due to other high profile AAA releases.

The game comes out later this month and is surrounded by Assassin’s Creed 3, Halo 4, and not to mention Black Ops 2. The initial reactions from the beta aren’t that good as well, so it remains to be seen how EA handles this. They’ve said that they will only ship review copies on the day of release so yeah you can guess things from here.

Doug Creutz of Cowen and Company told GamesIndustry believes that EA’s financial projections may not be met due to the poor performance of Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Considering the first game sold pretty well, it’s not a surprise to think that this one wont because of the competition.

However, EA has had a good time with FIFA 13 beating sales expectations so they should be good to go.

“Based on our read of pre-release tracking data, we think the game might struggle to sell through 2MM units worldwide,” he said. “With only a week before a murderer’s row of AAA titles begins to come out, we think Medal of Honor: Warfighter has a very short window to capture sales.”
