Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak launched couple of weeks ago, and it certainly lived up to Capcom’s “massive expansion” billing, adding a bunch of new content for Rise players to dive into. The expansion has, predictably enough, been met with strong critical acclaim, and that’s been reflected in solid sales as well. Within a week of its launch, it had shipped 2 million units worldwide, and now, it has crossed another sales milestone.
Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has crossed 3 million units in worldwide shipments and digital sales across all platforms since its launch couple of weeks ago. At last count (which was a week ago), the base game’s sales stood at 10 million units. Capcom says it plans on further growing sales for the base game and its expansion with additional updates going forward. The first of many free updates is planned for August.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is available on Nintendo Switch and PC. In our review of the expansion, we awarded it a score of 8/10, saying, “Sunbreak isn’t something that every Monster Hunter fan needs to go out of their way to experience. But it is new, challenging content for Rise players along with Follower Quests and a new endgame to grind through. If you’re a fan of the current formula, then the expansion is well worth jumping in to.” You can read the full review through here.
