Monster Hunter World on PC is continuing to see improvements not just thanks to official support from Capcom, but also the modding community, who are extending its life far beyond anything Capcom could have imagined. For instance, take this— a new mod out for the game that lets you create custom quests.
It’s obviously a bit technical, but to budding game designers, it can be fun setting up their own quests with their own conditions, and then sharing them with friends. The mod comes with a “help” section to guide you in setting up your own custom quests, and requires a full dump of the game or a valid source for .mib files (you can get more details on the mod’s official download page).
Custom quests in Monster Hunter are definitely an interesting idea that so far has not been approached in any official capacity in any mainline game— it is something, however, that I hope Capcom does consider in the long run for the series. I love the quests they make, but getting to make my own would be pretty awesome too.
Monster Hunter World is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
