Monster Hunter: World Stealth Will Have A Cooldown Meter, Confirms Capcom

Monster Hunter has all new stealth mechanics.

Monster Hunter World seems to be doing a lot of things that will be firsts for the series. Having a fully open world, coming out on the consoles, launching for the Xbox One and PC- these are things Monster Hunter fans are not used to seeing. Another new mechanics that we will be seeing in the upcoming game is stealth, and in post-E3 interview, Capcom’s Ryozo Tsujimoto spoke briefly about it.

“We have these new kind of suit items,” Tsujimoto said via a translator. “They’re like mantles, and the one you saw in the trailer was a gilly mantle. It lets you go into a little bit of a stealth mode.” You won’t be able to sneak around wearing the suit all the time, though. Tsujimoto went on to clarify this. “There is a cooldown, though,” he said. “You can’t have it on all the time.”

The suits won’t just be about sneaking around, though, and it looks like they will be an integral part of how you choose to hunt monsters. “We’ve also got the opposite,” Tsujimoto continue. “We’ve got one that lets you lure monsters towards you. So you’ve got different options available to you for the strategy and the hunt this time around.”

Monster Hunter: World was officially announced during Sony’s E3 press event. It will be out for the PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2018. You can watch the reveal trailer here. In the meanwhile, stay tuned to GamingBolt for continued coverage on the game.
