It’s been almost 2 years ago when FromSoftware and Bandai Namco officially announced Elden Ring. The CG trailer was a moody and foreboding one that fit the type of titles that From has largely become famous for. However, there’s been nothing official about it since then, just rumors and whispers. Well, we have more of the latter today, but those whispers are saying it shouldn’t be too long before we see something officially.
VentureBeat’s Jeff Grub recently spoke on a podcast, GamesBeat Decides, about the game. He said that he expected that official news on Elden Ring will be coming soon, even saying “They [the sources] gave me confidence that Elden Ring would be by the end of March.” He did say it was possible that the grand re-reveal will slip down the road, but did feel strongly that the game would have some major news at least by the usual E3 timeframe of June. Grubb joins others in saying that the game will get some kind of news soon.
On top of that, we just recently had part of an internal WIP trailer leak, which you can read more about here, which potentially points to activity planned soon. Though other rumors have stated the game most likely will not release in 2021 due to issues with remote development amid COVID. Fingers crossed we know something a little more solid soon.
