We found out last week that one of the guest characters for Mortal Kombat 11 would be the comic character Spawn. In many ways, he’s a perfect fit. He’s a demon, being sent back from hell as a supernatural assassin who turned his back on the devil and decided to fight evil. He’s got chains, burned features, and a very ‘90s inspired wardrobe, so he should fit in with the MK cast pretty well. And also, for fans of the character, he’s going to sound very familiar.
Spawn came from the pages of comic books, but he’s actually been all over. He had a film adaptation in the ‘90s, as well as an animated TV series on HBO. There he was voiced by Keith David. He’s a great actor that many will recognize for his booming voice from various animations and video games. It seems he will also return, WB Interactive Entertainment announced, to reprise the role of Spawn when he launches for Mortal Kombat 11. No word on when that is yet, but he’ll sound familiar either way when he does.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. The first DLC character, Shang Tsung, will release June 18th. You can read our take on the game here.
