MultiVersus, the hit platform fighter from Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games, has been performing exceptionally well. It reportedly has over 10.3 million players (and rising). Season 1 is confirmed to be launching on August 15th after a short delay with a new Battle Pass containing 50 ranks of rewards to unlock. What is the best way to earn XP and quickly level up?
One method involves playing Co-op vs. AI, where you can team with a friend or random player to take on a team of two bots. Playing with friends grants a 30 percent bonus to XP and Gold earned, so it’s highly recommended. Regardless, if you’re not feeling the matches against other players, then this is a reliable way to garner some XP. Don’t bother playing solo against AI bots since this provides no XP.
Completing Daily Missions for the Battle Pass is also a given, but you should prioritize Seasonal Milestones whenever possible. These rotate once per season and offer a hefty chunk of XP (with the 30 percent XP boost from playing with friends also applying here).
Finally, there’s Rested XP, available in the Battle Pass menu. This doubles the XP earned when the gauge is full and slowly starts emptying with each match played. Upon returning the next day, the Rested XP gauge will be full again. Essentially, it rewards players who can only play for a short timespan each day. Even if you’re looking for longer sessions, receiving double XP for the Daily Missions and Seasonal Milestones can help in leveling up quickly.
How to Earn Gold
XP is required to level up the Battle Pass and your characters but Gold is arguably more important. It’s used for unlocking characters, variants (which are essentially alternate outfits) and for training Perks (allowing Perks that aren’t part of a character’s progression to be equipped). Playing matches is the most straightforward way, with wins providing a small bonus.
As noted above, playing with a friend provides a 30 percent bonus to XP and Gold. If grinding out Co-op vs. AI matches sounds fun, that’s one way to earn Gold. You should also use Toasts after playing together. These are consumables that provide some Gold, but the twist is that you have to be on the receiving end of one. It’s easy to do this when playing with a friend. Five free Toasts are doled out each day and earned from leveling up characters so don’t spend Gold on the same.
You also receive 100 Gold after the first daily win, so it’s worth logging in to play at least one match. Daily and battle pass missions are also a source of free Gold and don’t require much time to complete. While the free track rewards of Season 1’s Battle Pass are yet to be detailed, the preseason pass currently offers 250 Gold free at tier 11. We wouldn’t recommend grinding for the latter since the preseason ends in a few days. But it’s worth keeping an eye out for Season 1’s free rewards.
Characters also provide Gold as free rewards at level 5 in their progression paths. Prioritize any free characters in rotation and level them up as quickly as possible to access their rewards. Leveling up your profile also provides 100 Gold.
MultiVersus is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
