Naughty Dog Artist Clarifies Medieval-Themed Art Is Not From New Project

It was just some art to tip the hat to the most recent Assassin's Creed.

Naughty Dog has become one of the most influential studios in the industry today. Their work on Uncharted and The Last of Us has elevated them in the eyes of many, and the cinematic style they pioneered is everywhere nowadays. People are eager to see what they have in the oven next after finishing up The Last of Us Part 2. Are they moving on to Part 3? Uncharted 5? A new IP? Well, people thought we had a hint in the air a few days ago, but as it turns out, that wasn’t the case.

A piece of what many assumed was concept art popped up from Naughty Dog Senior Concept Artist Hyoung Nam. It had a woman in what looked to be some type of medieval setting with some dragon-esque slain creature beside her. Despite being rather old, having been uploaded 2 months ago, it got people speculating that this could be from Naughty Dog’s next project. Many noted the look of the latest Assassin’s Creed, Valhalla, and thought it could be set in that same time period. Well, that look apparently isn’t a coincidence.

Hyoung Nam updated the description to explicitly show that the art was inspired by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on his Art Station. So no, it doesn’t seem to be that the studio’s next title will be a medieval-themed fantasy title. Or at least, if it will, this particular piece of art isn’t from it.
