New Splinter Cell Game Reportedly Not In Production At Ubisoft

Put those multi-vision goggles away.

Perhaps the game Ubisoft gets asked about the most is a new Splinter Cell instalment. The fan-favourite stealth franchise remains in high demand, but Ubisoft doesn’t seem to want to invest in the property too much right now- even though they may, hopefully, want to return to it in the future.

But as it stands right now, it seems it’s going to be a while before we see the return of Sam Fisher. Recently, on the Kotaku Splitscreen podcast, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier reported that everyone he’s spoken with at Ubisoft tells him that right now, there’s no Splinter Cell game in productions. “I’ve asked a bunch of people about this because everybody wants to know if a Splinter Cell game is coming,” said Schreier. “Everyone I’ve talked to has said no, as far as they know there is no Splinter Cell game in production.”

Schreier’s track record is a solid one, and really, if Ubisoft were gearing up for a Splinter Cell launch, we probably would have heard something about it, given how leaky Ubisoft has been of late. From Watch Dogs Legion to Rainbow Six Quarantine to new RPG IP codenamed Orpheusthere have been a few Ubisoft leaks already.
