E3 approaches, and new leaks about upcoming announcements pop up every day. As tradition would have it, a lot of these leaks have been about Ubisoft (wouldn’t be E3 without Ubisoft leaks, would it?)- first there was Watch Dogs Legion, which Ubisoft shortly confirmed afterward with a short teaser, with more info to come during their conference. Now, Jason Schreier of Kotaku has detailed a couple more Ubisoft projects which we can expect to see imminently.
Speaking on the latest Kotaku Splitscreen podcast, Schreier spoke of a new IP currently codenamed “Orpheus”. During the podcast, Schreier mentioned that the game is an open world action adventure title similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but would go on to give clarifications on Twitter. Schreier later corrected himself, saying that Orpheus is supposed to be a “small-scale RPG”, and that the comparisons being drawn with Breath of the Wild that he’s heard about is more to do with the game’s art style than anything else.
We do know that Ubisoft have a couple of surprises up their sleeve for E3 in terms of announcements, as they have mentioned themselves, while they’ve also mentioned before that they plan on releasing multiple major new titles throughout the year, so this would definitely fall in line with that. Don’t take it as a confirmation just yet, but keep your eyes peeled anyway for an official announcement in the coming days.
