A new Xbox update will be adding two important Xbox Series X/S controller features to Xbox One controllers in the coming days. As revealed in an Xbox Wire post, the update is already available for Xbox Insiders, and adds DLI(Dynamic Latency Input) and Bluetooth Low Energy to Xbox One Wireless Controllers with Bluetooth support, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and Xbox Adaptive Controllers.
As fans of the platform might already know, DLI does some technical wizardry to reduce controller latency on the Xbox Series X/S by a significant margin. Bluetooth Low Energy basically allows for better connectivity of controllers with non-Xbox devices, such as PCs and mobile phones.
Xbox’s new generation of controllers adopted a minimal upgrade strategy which is at odds with PlayStation’s radical change with its DualSense design. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer wants the team to work on updating its controller, and perhaps this update could be the start of greater things to come.
