PlatinumGames and Square Enix came out with the incredible NieR: Automata in 2017, and though the former’s games often don’t enjoy nearly as much commercial success as they should, that has definitely not been the case with this action RPG.
Having sold over 4.85 million units as of September, the game has continued to enjoy strong and steady sales over a long period of time. And as recently confirmed over on Twitter, it has now crossed another milestone. It’s been confirmed that NieR: Automata has crossed 5 million units in worldwide shipments and digital sales.
NieR: Automata is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and there’s plenty more upcoming NieR content for series fans to look forward to. NieR Replicant releases for those same platforms on April 23, while NieR Re[in]carnation is bringing the series’ action RPG experience to mobile devices, when it releases for iOS and Android some time in 2021 as well.
