Toylogic and Square Enix finally unveiled the first gameplay for NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139…, the remaster of the classic PS3 title. It looks pretty good, retains much of the same hack and slash gameplay and is seemingly more responsive. Check it out below.
It might be a slight change for those used to NieR: Automata’s dodge-heavy combat but parrying and counter-attacking looks sharp. Plus, there are still bullet-hell sections where the player must dodge hundreds of projectiles to survive. One can only hope that the performance is as sleek across all versions.
NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139… is available to pre-order today for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It releases on April 23rd 2021. Along with improvements to combat, there will also be new characters and music tracks. All dialogue exchanges will also be fully voiced, bringing the story to life like never before (though we didn’t get to see that here). Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
