With all the hype around Ninja Gaiden 4, it’s easy to forget that Team Ninja is also working on Nioh 3, new title in its acclaimed masocore action RPG series. Following its recent limited-time demo, the developer has promised improvements; for now, there’s fresh new boss fight gameplay, courtesy of IGN. Check it out below.
Takeda Shingen is the target in question, a burly brawler with some surprising ranged spells. Nioh 3 allows players to instantly shift between Ninja and Samurai Styles, the former emphasizing ninjutsu and ranged attacks while the latter is better for close-combat. The added agility of Ninja Style allows for more easily dodging the heavier blows, but Samurai Style is suited for bigger damage.
It’s worth noting the Dual Blades, which have seen the return of three Stances, similar to previous titles. With an appearance confirmed for Tokyo Game Show 2025, we may see even more improvements and changes later this month.
Nioh 3 launches in early 2026 for PS5 and PC. Head here for more details on its Open Field levels, which Team Ninja is hesitant to refer to as open world.
