With the sequel right around the corner, Koei Tecmo’s Nioh continues to sell well. The publisher revealed on Twitter that shipments for the action RPG have passed three million units overall. Just two weeks ago, it was announced that global shipments were nearing the three million mark.
As for Nioh 2, it releases on March 13th for PS4 and serves as a prequel to the first game. Players control Hideyoshi, a half-human, half-Yokai slayer who gets involved in the war for Spirit Stones. Along with a variety of different weapons, the player will utilize the abilities of Yokai in battle. A new mechanic also involves Yokai-infused strikes to stagger enemies and create openings.
In terms of gameplay length, Nioh 2 fans can expect the same number of main missions as the first game. Developer Team Ninja hasn’t outlined what the end-game will offer but three post-launch DLC packs have been confirmed. Stay tuned for more details and check out some recent gameplay here.
