Great games don’t always sell well, sadly, which is why it’s always great to hear about an excellent title enjoying strong sales over a prolonged period of time. One game that has been doing so pretty much constantly since its 2017 launch is Team Ninja ad Koei Tecmo’s Soulslike action RPG, Nioh.

Recently, during a livestream focused on its upcoming sequel (via Twinfinite), Nioh director Fumihiko Yasuda confirmed that game has has shipped nearly 3 million units worldwide since release- 2.95 million, to be precise. Nioh’s sales stood at 2.75 million units shipped in September last year, which means that the game is enjoying steady, strong sales on a pretty consistent bases. Given that its sequel is right around the corner, that’s a bit surprising.

Speaking of the sequel, Nioh 2 is out exclusively for the PS4 on March 13. Koei Tecmo recently released a new trailer and a bunch of new screenshots for the game, so make sure to give those a look through the links.
