New previews for Team Ninja’s Nioh 2 have gone live today and that includes some new gameplay. PlayStation Access released a video showcased Kitanosho Castle and a boss fight against Maeda Toshiie (which should be familiar to some players). However, we also get a look a brand new boss – a Yokai version of Shibata Katsuie.

Known for serving Oda Nobunaga in the Sengoku era, Shibata Katsuie has featured in several of Koei Tecmo’s Samurai Warriors and Warriors Orochi games. Much like in those titles, he wields two axes and can dish out some serious damage. Of course, the video also showcases gameplay against standard enemies along with some Yokai skills.

Nioh 2 is out on March 13th for PS4. It’s a prequel to the first game and sees the protagonist Hideyoshi partaking in the Spirit Stone war against the Yokai while being a half-human, half-Yokai. Along with the base game, players can expect three post-launch DLC packs in the future.
