‘No Guarantee’ For PS4/Xbox One Release Of The Elder Scrolls Online This Year

It's a delay, but not that long of a delay.

The Elder Scrolls Online released earlier this year on PC and Mac, and it has since done rather well for itself, in spite of a characteristically difficult launch. It was also due out for the Xbox one and PlayStation 4 in June this year, before it was abruptly delayed, with no new release date given. A lot of people speculated that the game might have slipped into next year, but Bethesda has just assured everyone that the game is still on track to release on consoles later this year.

“I will tell you we are working round the clock to try and make that happen,” Creative director Paul Sage said to IGN. “I can’t guarantee anything, that would be foolish to do, but we are certainly working with that goal in mind.”

Of course, the wording makes it clear that Bethesda doesn’t want to commit to a release later this year, but at the very least they are still aiming for it.
