Victory must have been sweet for the Xbox One when the NPD Group reported the console’s sales exceeding that of the PlayStation 4 from July through October. However, in its November report, the firm confirmed that the PS4 had pushed its way back up to the top spot. This comes in the wake of news that the PS4 has sold more than 50 million units globally since December 6th.
A spokesperson for Sony confirmed the PS4’s victory to GameSpot but didn’t say much more beyond that. We do know that the PS4 Slim 500 GB Uncharted 4 bundle was a big seller as was the PS4 Pro. And though Microsoft is in second place this time around, it’s still doing pretty well.
Black Friday sales were high and the company saw higher levels of engagement on Xbox Live – 40 percent higher compared to November 27th last year as per Xbox marketing VP Mike Nichols.
