Octopath Traveler Features 80-100 Hours of Playtime, New Demo Goes Live Today

Play the new demo and transfer progress over to the full game.

Square Enix has released a new demo for Acquire’s Octopath Traveler on Nintendo Switch, this time promising three hours of gameplay and progression carrying over into the full game on purchase. With Octopath Traveler being available on July 13th worldwide, this is a pretty good way to try the game out.

And lest you think that’s a lot of gameplay to give away for free, it was revealed on Nintendo Treehouse Live at E3 2018 that Octopath Traveler has 50 to 60 hours of playtime for its main story. Throw in all the side quests as well and that’s 80 to 100 hours of playtime in total.

Octopath Traveler’s premise has always been interesting since it provides eight different playable characters with unique abilities. For instance, there’s a Thief who can steal items, a Dancer who allure anyone to follow her (and thus summon them into battle) and a Warrior that can challenge anyone.

To try out the new demo, simply head to the Nintendo eShop. If you’ve already tried the demo, what are your thoughts? Let us know below.
