The development team of Onrush, the latest arcade racer created by the minds behind Driveclub and Motorstorm: Apocalypse, hasn’t been doing too well. Recent reports indicated that the game suffered poor sales with several lead creative members and senior staff being let go. Director Paul Rustchynsky was sadly included in that list.
Nevertheless, the developer is soldiering on, with Onrush set to receive a “big update” at the beginning of August. This is according to the game’s official Twitter, which also promised that there would be a “whole lot more to come”. The safe bet is that Ranked mode will finally be added to the game in August. However, if sales haven’t been exceptional, will there be enough of a player base to sustain it?
Regardless, Onrush is still in business for those keeping track. It’s currently available for Xbox One and PS4 with a PC release happening at some point. You can check out GamingBolt’s review for the Xbox One version, in which we praised the action and visual style while questioning the team-based aspect, especially when it comes to purely objective-based racing.
