Ori and the Will of the Wisps Has Gone Gold

The metroidvania title wraps up principal development over a month ahead of launch.

Moon Studios’ 2015 metroidvania title Ori and the Blind Forest is one of the best games Microsoft have published in years, and fans of the game have been looking forward to its sequel – which has been delayed more than a few times – for quite a while now. That wait, however, is going to be over very soon.

The developer announced on Twitter that the upcoming Ori and the Will of the Wisps has gone gold. In laymen terms, that means principal development on the game has wrapped up and its master code is being sent out to be printed on discs (or uploaded on digital storefronts). Any work the developers do on the game now in terms of polishing or tweaking things will come in the form of day one or post-release patches.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is out for the Xbox One and PC on March 11. Like all games published by Xbox Game Studios, it will also launch on Xbox Game Pass simultaneously on launch day.
