Ghost Town Games’ Overcooked! 2 released last week and has had nice critical reception, despite complaints about the online connectivity and progression. The developer isn’t wrapping things up just yet though – instead, it will address issues and release New Game Plus as an additional mode.
Each of the 45 levels in Overcooked! 2 has a star rating indicating mastery, with three stars being the highest. With New Game Plus, there will be a fourth star added on. How levels will change up and what players have to do to obtain this fourth star remains to be seen. That said, publisher Team17 doesn’t have an estimated release date for the mode to announce yet.
Regardless, if you’re burning through the campaign and want more challenges, they’re coming soon. It also remains to be seen if more content will be added to the game, perhaps in the form of new chefs to unlock or additional levels. Regardless, Overcooked! 2 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch, so pick it up if chaotic co-op action with your friends sounds like a lovely evening.
