Blizzard Entertainment’s next hero in Overwatch 2 is Ramattra, the first-ever Tempo Tank who relies on shifting between Omnic and Nemesis forms to close the distance on enemies. Two new videos are available, which see lead concept artist Qiu Fang outlining the Null Sector leader’s playstyle and design evolution. Check them out below.
The idea is to play around Nemesis form’s cooldown. In Omnic form, Ramattra pokes from a distance with Void Accelerator (which has no damage fall-off and deals more damage on crits). His Barrier has lots of health but lasts for a short period, allowing you to close the distance or get through chokes quickly. Once you’re close enough, it’s Nemesis time, which lets Ramattra use Pummel for close-range damage that goes through shields.
Ravenous Field is also useful here, as it slows enemies and grounds flying opponents. Annihilation is perhaps the first “unending” Ultimate in the game. As long as there’s an enemy it can tether to, it keeps going, providing constant damage against foes while ensuring they deal 50 percent less damage.
Ramattra is available when Season 2 goes live on December 6th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more details tomorrow with the gameplay trailer and content roadmap reveal.
