Blizzard's hero shooter will be available early for Xbox consoles and PC later this year with more details coming at the July 16th event.

Blizzard Entertainment promised a big announcement for its Overwatch 2 event on June 16th but it’s come early. Overwatch 2 is entering early access on October 4th for Xbox consoles and PC. It will also be free-to-play. Check out the trailer below.

Along with showcasing updated looks for D.Va, Orisa, Ana, and many more, we also see a variety of different skins for heroes like Tracer, Ash, Bob, and more. On top of this, a new cinematic was revealed for the Junker Queen, the next playable hero. Along with wielding a shotgun, her Ultimate involves a rush attack on enemies with a spinning weapon. It also seems she began as a competitor in Junkertown’s arena, working her way up the ladder.

How long Overwatch 2 will be in early access remains to be seen but it appears to be exclusive to Xbox consoles and PC. Of course, the full release could still be coming next year for PS4 and Nintendo Switch along with Xbox and PC. Stay tuned for more details on June 16th.
