Overwatch 2 – Season 3 Trailer Debuts February 6th, New Control Map Revealed

Antarctic Peninsula is the first new Control map since Busan was released in 2018. It has frozen caverns, penguins, and more.

Blizzard Entertainment recently announced that Overwatch 2 Season 3 begins on February 7th. A new Battle Pass is on the way with a new Mythic skin, Amaterasu Kiriko. But that’s not all, as a new Control map will also debut.

Antarctic Peninsula, as the name implies, is set in Antarctica and seems to be the same base where Mei was living. A short new clip on Twitter showcases frozen caverns with penguins, various interiors and the exterior overlooking the water. Interestingly, this will be the first new Control map added to the game since Busan in 2018.

The developer also announced that Season 3’s trailer debuts on February 6th. Along with a better look at combat on the Antarctic Peninsula, it should showcase the new skins and Battle Pass cosmetics that players can expect. As for other changes, Blizzard confirmed that its matchmaker is being revamped and that players can earn free Overwatch Credits to purchase Epic and Legendary skins. Stay tuned for more details before the season’s launch.
