Overwatch 2 Summer Games 2023 Starts Today, Adds New Mode

Along with the long-running Lucioball, there's Winston's Beach Volleyball. Players can also likely expect new skins and challenges.

Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch 2 will see the return of Summer Games, a limited-time event celebrating Summer, later today. Lucioball returns as a Seasonal Brawl, but there will also be a new mode – Winston’s Beach Volleyball. Details on both are still pending, so stay tuned for more when the event goes live.

The limited-time events also bring new skins, with many usually relegated to the shop. If it follows the pattern of previous months’ events, there should be an Epic Skin that players can earn for free by simply participating and completing Challenges.

Overwatch 2 is in the middle of Season 5, featuring new Mythic skin for Tracer and Questwatch, a mini-narrative that follows some of the characters as they play a tabletop RPG. Mischief and Magic, the game’s take on Prop Hunt, will arrive on July 25th. On August 10th, Season 6 will go live and add the long-awaited story missions, available for $15.
