Overwatch Anniversary Remix Event Announced, Volume 1 Starts April 5th

The three-part event will see the return of past Brawls and mini-event skins along with remixes of popular Legendary skins.

It’s that time of the year again when Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch celebrates its anniversary. However, the developer is taking a different approach this time with the Anniversary Remix event. Instead of a single event, it will take place over three parts with Volume 1 starting on April 5th.

Events like Archives, Lucio Ball, Mei’s Snowball Challenge and more will return and rotate over the course of three weeks. During this period, players can unlock every skin normally along with new “remixed’ Legendary skins. The latter are essentially recolors of the most popular skins ever released and there will be six in each Remix event. Volume 1’s “remixed” Legendaries include Demon Genji, Mage Mercy, Steelhardt Reinhardt, Evermore Reaper, Zealot Zenyatta and White Cat D.Va.

Players can also look forward to the three most popular mini-event skins to make a return. The challenges to unlock them only be available for a week though so get them while you can. It’s worth noting that Archives, the normal Anniversary event, and Summer Games won’t be returning this year. Anniversary Remix will provide new variants though and transfer to Overwatch 2 when it releases (along with any cosmetics earned).

Stay tuned for more details in the coming days. Overwatch 2 is also slated to have a closed PC beta on April 26th. Head here for more details.
