Blizzard Entertainment’s open beta for Overwatch saw an amazing level of participation around the world – more than 9.7 million players took part, making it arguably the most successful open beta of all time. A new infographic from the developer also revealed some other interesting stats from the open beta.
According to Blizzard, Soldier 76, Widowmaker, Reinhardt and Mercy were the most picked heroes overall with players swapping heroes a grand total of 271 million times. That works out to about 8 times per match. Other interesting stats include 326 million Bastions destroyed, McCree’s High Noon arriving 5.7 million each day of the beta, more than 87 million loot boxes earned and more than 9 million payloads successfully delivered.
It’s a crazy amount of activity to be sure but then again, there were participants from more than 190 countries worldwide. Overwatch will be releasing on May 24th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
