Hi-Rez Studios’ Paladins has been under a fair bit of discretion with comparisons to Overwatch. While COO Todd Harris has denied ripping off Overwatch and provided hefty evidence here, director Jeff Kaplan spoke about the same to Business Insider.
“I think it’s very common for people to make comparisons about games like that, but I think players should play what games are fun to them, check them out, and have fun with what’s out there.
“You know, I play every game that I can get my hands on that comes out, and even if they might have some similarities, they’re usually drastically different, so my suggestion to players is just to play what’s fun to you and don’t worry about the comparisons.”
Kaplan doesn’t directly address Harris’s points but he does the right idea – even if it is similar, as long as you enjoy it, no harm and no foul right? Let us know what you think in the comments.
