Overwatch Is The Most Watched 2016 Release on Twitch

Activision Blizzard rule the roost.

It looks like there’s no stopping Overwatch. The Blizzard based team based shooter took the world by storm when it launched earlier this year, and people have been playing it in massive numbers ever since. Apparently, they have also been watching it in huge numbers, because according to the numbers that Twitch released at TwitchCon (via VentureBeat), Overwatch is the most watched 2016 release on Twitch so far.

The Top Three is entirely Activision, with World of Warcraft: Legion and Destiny: Rise of Iron bringing up the next two spots; The Division comes in at number four, while H1Z1: King of the Hill is fifth. Arma 3 and The Culling are up next, No Man’s Sky is number eight, Stardew Valley is ninth, and finally, Clash Royale rounds up the top ten.

Of course, all these rankings are subject to change- some of the biggest games of this year, including Gears of War 4, Battlefield 1, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Pokemon Sun/Moon, and Watch Dogs 2 haven’t released yet, so the top ten could be shuffled pretty thoroughly by the time all is said and done. Still, as it stands right now, this is 2016 in streaming.
