A smattering of Overwatch content was announced at Blizzcon 2016. Along with the reveal of Sombra and her introduction to the PTS next week, there will also be a new Arcade Mode going live at the test server as well.
Arcade Mode is interesting because it’s an expansion of the “Brawls” concept. It features an exclusive map – Eco Point Antarctica which is where Mei cryogenically froze herself – and allows for up to three Loot Box rewards in a week. Simply win three matches in Arcade and you receive a Loot Box until it refreshes the next week.
The types of modes included in the Arcade include 1 v 1 Mystery Duel, a best of nine match where each player receives a randomly selected hero (but likely in the same class) each round; 3 v 3 Elimination with best of five rounds (and no hero switching per round); Mystery Heroes, which is essentially Quick Play but with a random hero and no hero limits; and All Brawls where you can reply many of the older brawls. Each round completion begins a new ruleset or Brawl.
No Limits is another mode featured in the Arcade and it allows for hero stacking and playing whatever. That sounds like Quick Play but the latter is being changed in the coming days to support single hero limits.
If that weren’t enough, a new King of the Hill map called Oasis will be released for Overwatch in December.
