With all the hubbub surrounding E3 2016, it was easy to miss one of the bigger announcements for Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch – that being a new patch which has changed McCree and Widowmaker, two heroes which earned much ire among players.
McCree’s strength lay in Fan The Hammer, an alternate fire mode which could melt tanks. The damage for it has been reduced though McCree’s recovery time for reloading has been reduced. While he’s still a threat for heroes like Tracer and Zenyatta, don’t count on McCree smashing Reinhardt or Winston apart any time soon.
Meanwhile, Widowmaker’s sniper rifle has had the base damage decreased while the headshot multiplier has been increased. This means body shots will deal less damage but headshots will maintain their effectiveness. The Ultimate charge cost for Infra-sight has also been increased by 10 percent and you won’t be able to quick scope as easily since the unscoping animation must finish before you scope in again.
The patch is currently available for PC and should roll out for PS4 and Xbox One in a bigger update. Stay tuned for more details on the same and let us know what you think of the changes.
