Payday 3 Patch is Delayed Again

"We have identified some issues that need to be fixed," says Starbreeze, who will provide an ETA on the patch when it's sure of delivery.

Starbreeze Studios has improved matchmaking for Payday 3 following its disastrous worldwide launch, but there are still plenty of issues with the progression, weapon balance, teammate AI and much more. Its first patch was planned for October 5th but delayed to mid-October. However, the developer has announced another delay.

In a series of tweets, it apologized for the lack of communication and said, “We have identified some issues that need to be fixed before we can bring it to you, but rest assured that this is the main priority for our teams.” Starbreeze will also spend “additional time revamping our patching process to ensure that we can have a steady cadence and momentum with patches going forward.”

There’s no ETA on the patch since it wants to ensure it can “deliver before we do so.” Nevertheless, it asks players to “please bear with us” as the patch and “more news” are coming.

The first patch for Payday 3 features over 200 quality-of-life improvements on all platforms, though it’s yet to be outlined. Starbreze has more patches planned in the coming weeks, followed by the first paid DLC, Syntax Error, in December. Also, despite its issues, Payday 3 had over 3.1 million unique players within the first few weeks of release. Stay tuned for more details, and check out our review.
