PC Game The Forest Is Being Upgraded To Unity 5 Engine

Update coming April 14.

The excellent and intriguing PC game, The Forest, will be upgraded to Unity 5 with the next update; this will “provide a massive visual and performance increase for everyone.”

Endnight Games, the developers of the title, had this to say about the upcoming update:

“We’re really excited for you guys to see how the world looks with the better deferred renderer, and improved lighting/shading. We’re planning on officially switching to unity 5 for this next upcoming patch (0.16) which will be out in 28 days [on April 14th]!”

The Forest is really a one of a kind game, that is highly recommended. Over time, it has seen exemplary post launch support as well (although technically, the game isn’t ‘launched’ yet- it’s only now nearing its beta phase). Currently only available on PC, it will be coming to the PlayStation 4 as well, it was announced at the PlayStation Experience event last year.
