It’s been a busy time for the Persona series these last few months, with multiple releases across multiple platforms, from the western launch of Persona 5 Royal, to the Japanese launch of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Striker, and the Steam release of Persona 4 Golden. All three of those, as it turns out, have enjoyed commercial success.
Atlus have announced updates sales figures for all three releases, and each has impressed with its figures, to varying degrees. Persona 5 Royal has sold 1.4 million units worldwide, while Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers has sold over 480,000 units in Japan and Asia- a western launch for the action title is also planned, but an exact release date is yet to be nailed down.
Meanwhile, Persona 4 Golden – which has been unsurprisingly successful on Steam – has sold 500,000 units since its launch on the digital storefront. All of this collectively takes the total sales for the Persona series to over 13 million units worldwide, up from 11.1 million units in December 2019.
So yeah, news flash- people buy Persona games. Maybe now Atlus will put Persona 5 on the Switch. Probably not though.
