While most of us in the west are just now getting to enjoy the sweet (and very long) ride of Persona 5 Royal, they’ve had that in Japan for much longer. They even moved on to the next major spinoff in the Persona series, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The game released earlier this year in Japan, and now we have word on how well it did, as well as what the plans are for an oversea release.
Koei Tecmo, who developed the game in conjunction with Atlus, posted their financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31st, 2020. In it they mention that Persona 5 Scramble has sold well, though no specific number was given. But more importantly to most reading here, a western release is also mentioned, seemingly confirming an overseas launch (thanks to Twinfinite for translations).
It’s not a huge surprise, considering how much the Persona series has grown and Scramble has been mentioned in western-based surveys recently. However, this is the first time we’ve seen a reference to a western release. Who knows how long it’ll take, but we’ll keep you updated.
