Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Global Closed Beta Announced, New Enemies Revealed

A second closed beta for PC players in Japan starts tomorrow.

Phantasy Star Online 2 players in the West, rejoice. Sega has confirmed a global closed beta test for New Genesis, though it hasn’t provided any dates for the same. Japan is in luck though as a second closed beta for PC will take place from tomorrow till March 21st.

In a recent livestream, Sega detailed all of the new features that could be expected from the next closed beta. This includes enemies like Bujin and Daityl Sword of the DOLLS; Chiacurio and Waulon of the ALTERS; and Crag Bear, Ard Banser and Ard Banshee of the FORMERS. New exploration sections include a 32-man battle, Dread enemies and an enormous foe called Gigantix.

Various weapon categories will include the Partisan and Wired Lance for Hunters. Fighters get Twin Daggers and Sabers while Rangers get Launchers and Forces/Techters receives Talis. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC worldwide along with Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Japan. It will release later this year so stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
