PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Crosses 4 Million Players on Xbox One

PUBG Corp's Battle Royale shooter continues to grow in popularity on Xbox One.

It’s been out since December 12th 2017 on Xbox Game Preview and faced a number of technical issues. However, the hype for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is simply unreal as developer PUBG Corp. announced more than four million players on the Xbox One today. Peak concurrent player counts weren’t revealed however.

To celebrate this milestone, it’s gifting Xbox One players with 30,000 Battle Points to purchase crates of cosmetics with. If you’ve purchased or plan to purchase PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and create a character before January 21st, 12 AM PST, then the Battle Points are all yours. Expect to see them delivered on February 1st, 12 AM PST.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds had a very strong start on the Xbox One with more than one million copies sold in the first 48 hours. The release was rife with texture streaming, frame rate and connection issues but has improved consistently since. A new update should be out now which adds options like auto-running with other gameplay and performance improvements.
