PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Sells Over 20 Million Copies

Creator Brendan Greene understands current frustrations from player base and promises that "change is coming."

Bluehole’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continues to roll on, selling over 20 million copies on Steam according to the latest tweet from creator Brendan Greene. He noted that while players are frustrated with issues, the development team was working hard to create a “truly great Battle Royale experience”.

Whether you think PUBG is the latest gravy train in gaming or not, especially since it’s raking in all these sales while still being in Early Access, there’s no denying its popularity. Even if it’s not currently the most viewed game on Twitch (currently second behind League of Legends), the game has broken all kinds of records on Steam.

The peak concurrent player count for the last 24 hours is 2,377,139 players with 1,739,396 players currently online as per the recent Steam charts. That’s far and above Valve’s uber popular Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: GO. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be coming to Xbox One on December 12th as part of the Game Preview program so stay tuned for more information.
