PlayStation’s Shuhei Yoshida Shows a Screenshot of Horizon Zero Dawn Running On Steam Deck

PlayStation indies boss Shuhei Yoshida has taken to Twitter to post a photo of Horizon Zero Dawn running on Valve's upcoming handheld device.

PlayStation’s indie boss Shuhei Yoshida recently took to Twitter to post a picture of Guerilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn running on Valve’s Steam Deck. The ex-SIE Worldwide Studios boss seems to be testing out the game, and from the looks of it, the visuals are holding up well enough (though of course, it’s hard to say until you we actually see it in motion for ourselves).

The textures and the environments do look a little muddy muddy, although it cannot be confirmed whether these visual settings are just part of the testing or whether it is the optimum way to experience the game on the platform. That said, it’s still pretty impressive that the game does natively run at all on a handheld PC such as the Steam Deck.

Yoshida has long been a handheld gaming enthusiast, with his Twitter history consisting of similar tests for machines such as the GPD Win handheld. Of course, many fans have expressed their desire for a new portable handheld from Sony, though it seems highly unlikely that anything along those lines will come to fruition anytime soon if at all, given the disastrous lifecycle of the PS Vita.
