PlayerUnknown’s Battlergounds All Set To Receive Ping Based Matchmaking

The developers are currently working on this new method and they are currently preparing to test it.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ developer has shared details regarding the game’s new 1.0 update for PC. Along with details about bug fixes and gameplay changes, the team also shared details regarding a method they are working on that will prioritize players wil low ping during matchmaking.

The team had earlier addressed the issue of ping-based matchmaking but the update has been delayed since the team has been occupied with implementing anti-cheat measures. However, the team is now working on a new method which is described as follows, “Unlike the method considered earlier, we are going to divide the matching pool depending on ping. This means that the users with lower pings will be prioritized during matchmaking. The team is expecting to improve the overall play experience by splitting the matching pool rather than restricting connection depending on ping. Preparations are underway to test this method in some regions, with first trials planned to start this week. Specific dates will be shared when ready.”

This will certainly make the game much more enjoyable for players whose experience won’t be affected by other players’ high ping. Hopefully, this new method will be implemented as soon as possible. The new update fixes a number of  issues in the game while also adding new loot crates and making some gameplay changes.
